What Makes Me a SecretGuru?

I'm an enthusiastic artisan baker and chef, and before moving to London I ran my own cookery school in the Basque area of France as well as a successful catering company in Paris.

Come and share my passion for baking and discover the secrets of making light, soft, delicious bread. I want to dispel the myth that making your own bread is a messy, hit and miss affair - it is, in fact, a fun and creative pastime!

In these hands-on classes you learn a simple, yet wonderfully effective technique to produce delectable breads, which you can replicate in your own kitchen – all you need is a domestic oven and a pair of hands!

Bakery classes are small, friendly and fun. I make sure everyone receives individual attention and leaves feeling inspired and confident to share their new skills with friends and family.
  • Introduction to Bread Making

    Imagine the glorious smell of fresh baking bread wafting through your home and eating it warm from the oven.

    That’s what you’ll be able to enjoy after just one lesson. In this fun group workshop you will learn a simple, yet wonderfully effective technique for producing delicious breads that you can replicate in your own kitchen. Even if you’ve never baked before, you will learn to produce two different doughs that will go on to make at least four different breads. And then we all sit down to eat your glorious fresh bread with cheese, meats, salad and wine!

  • Advanced Bread Making

    Take your bread making to the next level and create speciality breads with delicious ingredients like Emmental and Cumin.

    The joy of biting into a speciality bread bursting with incredible flavours is unbeatable. In this advanced class you will learn to make amazing bread using a Poolish (starter). You will learn techniques for baking French baguettes, specialty loaves including Olives, Pancetta with Red Onion and Emmental Cheese with Cumin.

    And not forgetting a delicate sweet dough for Pain Viennois and some irresistible doughnuts. This class could be the perfect gift for anyone who already loves their baking.

  • Pasta Making

    Attention pasta lovers! Turn even the simplest meal into something spectacular with light, homemade fresh pasta.

    Discover the taste and texture of REAL pasta and learn to make amazing fresh pasta to match your sauces. Our pasta-making course, run by Italian-born Roberta Levent, will equip you with all the skills you need to make a range of delicious pasta. The 3-hour class concludes with a sit down dinner to sample your new pasta dishes with salad and wine.

  • Bespoke Bakery Classes

    Whether you need bespoke artisan breads for your event or simply want to have a party with a difference, I can feed your imagination.

Additional information

Classes are on Saturdays - from 10am and finish around 2pm.

At the end of the baking session we all sit down to enjoy the breads as they come out of the oven with a lunch - a selection of cheese and hams, pâtés and salads - and a glass or two of wine!

You do not need to bring anything - all ingredients and equipment is provided. Classes are a maximum of six people. Group lessons in your own kitchen are available but at a higher price.

The area that I cover

We focus on the South of London, where we're based, because you come to our kitchen for group classes. We can teach you in your own kitchen, but please contact us to find out if we can serve your area.

Payments and Deposits

Payment in full is due at the time of booking.

Cancellations and Refunds

There is no refund policy, although an alternative class date can be booked at a later date.
